To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow. - Audrey Hepburn

Peaceful + Practical Edible Gardens was born out of three specific experiences: My love for gardening and a tiny garden that provided more food than my family could possibly eat, a toddler that seemed to eat anything growing in our yard (but nothing from the kitchen), and a lime tree. Yes, a lime tree can grow in central Indiana!

Our mission is to grow healthy food in a way that reconnects us with nature and brings a sense of community, while maintaining the peace and beauty we long for in our outdoor spaces.

Lynsey Johnston, Chief Foodscaper

Lynsey’s love of homegrown food and finding joy in the dirt, started over 35 years ago in her grandpa’s backyard garden. Playing with worms and harvesting vegetables were the things summers were made of in Northern Indiana. After years of finding joy in her home landscape and educating the public on edible plants, it was time to pivot. After 15 years in the corporate human resources world, Lynsey followed her passion for Permaculture, Plants and People and created Peaceful + Practical Edible Gardens. Lynsey holds a degree from Purdue University and a Permaculture Design Certificate from Midwest Permaculture.
